The upper Sacramento River is the main artery of northern California. The Sacramento Rive drains the Klamath mountains collecting in beautiful lake Siskiyou.  Below lake Siskiyou, the freestone river meanders finally draining into Lake Shasta. Great fishing and a lot of history, come with the experience on the upper Sacramento river. As the Upper Sac flows south, it parallels I-5 offering great access. Even with this access, the Upper Sac has many treasures to be discovered.

Certainly, a valuable consideration before planning a trip to the river is the waters flow. Water discharge down a river is measured in cubic feet per second California’s tailwaters are damn controlled and flow varies dependent on weather conditions and power demand as a result conditions fluctuate frequently.
